Objections Latin American buyers raise against a supplier from Japan, and the answer to each one

Your next big Latin American pharma deal depends on answering critical buyer objections.

6 audio modules in three lengths: the whole course takes 1 h as a briefing and 5 h expanded. Workbook, transcript and sources per module, a recorded multiple-choice questionnaire, a certificate per learner. Written for Japan sales.

The moment it goes wrong

A promising sales call with a major Brazilian distributor suddenly goes silent. You realize too late that their unanswered questions about your manufacturing site's quality control led to a lost opportunity. This delay costs your company months of market entry and significant revenue.

What changes after this course

After this course, your sales team will confidently address common concerns from Latin American pharmaceutical buyers. They will know specific responses regarding quality, logistics, and regulatory compliance. You will receive a training record for each participant, demonstrating their enhanced market readiness.

How long it takes, by who is listening

Nobody spends a day in a classroom. Every module exists in three lengths; a person takes the length their role needs, and every length ends with the same recorded questionnaire, so the training record is complete either way.

What is in the course, module by module

6 modules. Under each title are the three things the listener can do afterwards; the audio itself runs 10 to 50 minutes depending on the length chosen. Each module ends with a multiple-choice questionnaire whose result is recorded per person for your auditor. Your human-resources or quality manager decides what counts as passed and when a level is retaken.

  1. 1Understand key cultural and business drivers in Latin American pharma.

    • The importance of personal relationships in Latin American business culture is a critical rule.
    • Recognize the diverse regulatory bodies like Brazil's ANVISA and Mexico's COFEPRIS.
    • A common mistake is assuming a one-size-fits-all approach across the region.
  2. 2Address concerns about Japanese pharmaceutical quality standards.

    • Explain the Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA) role in Japan's GMP oversight.
    • A specific objection often concerns the traceability of raw materials.
    • The cost of a rejected batch due to insufficient documentation is substantial.
  3. 3Overcome logistics and supply chain reliability objections.

    • Describe the common decision to prefer local stockholding for faster delivery.
    • Identify the impact of import duties and taxes on landed cost in key markets.
    • A mistake is underestimating lead times for customs clearance in specific countries.
  4. 4Navigate Latin American regulatory documentation requirements.

    • Understand the need for Certificates of Pharmaceutical Product (CPP) for product registration.
    • The rule for submitting specific batch release protocols varies by country.
    • A common error is providing documents only in English, requiring costly translation.
  5. 5Negotiate pricing and payment terms effectively in Latin America.

    • Discuss the impact of currency fluctuations on long-term contract pricing.
    • A common objection relates to the preference for longer payment cycles.
    • The decision to offer credit lines can significantly influence deal closure.
  6. 6Build strong, lasting relationships with Latin American pharma buyers.

    • The rule for consistent post-sales communication strengthens buyer confidence.
    • A mistake is failing to provide dedicated local language support.
    • The decision to conduct regular site visits can significantly improve trust.
